Why?

The reality is this.

Small business has taken a hammering. Retail trade such as on Parramatta Road in Sydney has borne the brunt. The resultant effect is there for all to see. Left unaltered, whole suburbs will slide into disrepair closely accompanied by every undesirable element you could possibly think of. Quality of life takes real estate values by the hand and wanders off to greener pastures. Mega centres, part of the preliminary cause of small business woes and so far buffered from the hiatus, is just as exposed as the rest of us. This is because, in effect, they are made up of small businesses that rely on the community within which they flourish. Everybody points fingers. Action committees get formed. Discussions are discussed. Cases are made and submitted to governments who can only fix issues by spending money. This is money they must get from the people so they raise parking meter fees among other 'foot shooting' remedies. Nobody wins unless we get our middle fingers out, stick 'em in the air and get started fixing the issues ourselves. It's early days in the case of the Inner West but the potholes are starting to show and there is serious urgency. But anything that is done to save the small business sector must be done for the betterment and with the cooperation of the local community. We intend to help the small business sector and at the same time be at one with the local community. We will invite businesses who have all the right social ideals to join us.
